How to choose
- Match your trailer coverage to the program. No two programs word the trailer rule the same way, so read the one you'll haul under before your first load. Trailer interchange coverage explains the coverage and how to set the limit.
| Program | Trailer coverage it asks for |
|---|---|
| Amazon Relay | $50,000 trailer replacement, inside your $1 million auto liability |
| Uber Power Only | $1 million auto liability per occurrence, covering owned, non-owned and hired vehicles, third-party trailers included. The broker and shipper as additional insureds. An insurer rated AM Best A-VII or better |
| J.B. Hunt | Trailer interchange may be required on trailers you don't own |
| Bison Transport, a broker | $50,000 non-owned trailer interchange on power-only loads |
Check one load before you book it. The "what does this load need" tool shows the coverage and paperwork a program publishes next to the federal rules for your truck. What does this load need
- Count your authority age and time in business. Amazon Relay wants 180 days of interstate authority. Schneider looks at time in business and wants at least one year. To see which brokers and programs accept your authority age and insurance, run the load-ready check.
- Plan the setup. Schneider's setup takes five to 10 business days: you register on Highway and book through FreightPower. J.B. Hunt 360box starts its ICS setup on Highway too, then checks your authority, insurance, identity, ownership and safety status. Its PCS power-only onboarding is separate.
- Search the boards and apps. DAT, Truckstop, Direct Freight and 123Loadboard list power only, and so do the broker apps from C.H. Robinson, J.B. Hunt, NTG, Schneider and Uber Freight. A listed type means you can search for it, though the listing says nothing about how many loads are posted. On Amazon Relay, Post A Truck can book matching power-only loads for you.
- Read each rule's source. The list gives each program's authority rule, its insurance and its setup route. "Own page" marks a rule from the program's own carrier page, checked October 17, 2026, and "Reported" marks one found only on a third-party list. A blank cell means the program's pages don't say.
