How to choose

  • Start with the published terms. Each company in the list shows what its own pages publish, checked October 17, 2026. A blank cell means its pages don't give that term, so get it in writing before you sign.
  • Many published rates are starting points, such as "starting at 1.5% for eligible carriers" at Porter Freight Funding and "as low as 1.0%" at Outgo. What you pay depends on your volume, your brokers' credit and the contract you sign. Factoring fees lists every published and owner-reported rate.
  • Weigh owner reports as one owner's experience. They come from posts on trucking forums, each checked against its thread.
  • Count every fee. At 3%, factoring a $2,000 load costs $60. Porter Freight Funding's own example adds a $2 transaction fee, and Wallace Factoring charges extra for wire transfers. One owner on the forums asked and got the ACH fee waived.
  • Check broker quick pay before you sign. C.H. Robinson pays within 28 days at no cost, or in as little as two business days for 2%. Quick pay vs factoring compares the two.
  • Read what non-recourse covers. BasicBlock's page says broker non-payment isn't the carrier's responsibility, while Porter Freight Funding's covers broker bankruptcy or insolvency. One owner warned that no contract is fully non-recourse, and recourse vs non-recourse factoring covers the difference.
  • Read the term and the notice period. A freight broker reported a $2,500 early termination fee at eCapital, and a forum warning that named no company claimed $5,000.
  • Starting with a new MC. Factoring for a new authority covers the factors whose pages speak to new authorities.

A referral program never changes a company's place in the list.
