How to choose
- Pick from the four kinds of listing. Load boards such as DAT and Truckstop carry posts from many brokers for a monthly fee. Freight apps such as Navisphere Carrier and the Uber Freight app carry a broker's own loads once it approves you. Load programs such as Amazon Relay publish their own full rule set, and car hauler boards cover vehicle transport.
- Compare each price with its condition. Prices are monthly list prices from each company's own page, seen October 17, 2026, and a $0 price carries its condition, such as approval by the broker. The startup cost estimator can add DAT One Standard or Truckstop Basic to your monthly costs.
- Expect brokers to filter by authority age. DAT lets brokers set a minimum authority age on their loads, and some of their settings keep loads from showing to you at all. Truckstop's Authority Age Filter shows the posts that accept your authority age. More boards won't always mean more freight.
See which loads you can take. The load-ready check shows which brokers and programs accept your authority age and insurance today. Load-ready check
- Check the broker behind each post. DAT shows broker credit scores and days to pay, and Direct Freight shows them on its Enhanced and Professional plans. Run any broker you find on a board through the broker check before you book.
- Trust own-page details first. "Own page" means a detail comes from the company's own site, and "Reported" means it comes only from a third-party source. The trial and plan features for 123Loadboard come from a third-party pricing listing. Its plan prices didn't match between sources, so the list leaves them out.
- Check a board's status. A board that has closed or changed hands shows its status first. FreightWaves reported that TruckSmarter's app would shut down on September 4, 2026.
- Power only. For trucks that pull someone else's trailer, see power only loads.
