Factoring companies that say they take new authorities
These are the factoring companies whose own pages speak to new authorities or startup carriers, as of October 17, 2026. A blank cell means the page doesn't give that term, so get it in writing before your first load.
| Company | What its page says | Published rate | Contract | Recourse |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| altLINE | Lists new authorities | As low as 0.90% | Short-term contracts | |

| Thunder Funding | Says many new trucking companies use factoring | 1.49% for new clients, and it may vary | 90-day agreement | |
| Porter Freight Funding | Has a New Authority program | Starting at 1.5% for eligible carriers | Standard term, 60 days' written notice before renewal | Both |
| Bobtail | Works with new trucking businesses | Usually 1.5% to 3.5% per invoice | Month to month, then long term after a 90-day trial | |

| Interstate Business Capital | Says time in business isn't required | Recourse | ||
| Advantage Business Capital | Says years in business don't limit you | |||
| Far West Capital | Says fleet size and years in business don't limit you |
A starting rate is the best case. Porter's 1.5% is for eligible carriers, and Thunder Funding's 1.49% is for new clients and may vary.
Owners on trucking forums who named their own rate reported 2% to 3%, so ask for your rate in writing. Factoring fees has the full list of published and reported rates.
What a factor checks on a new MC
The factor is buying invoices your brokers owe, so it checks them as well as you.
- Your authority. Interstate Business Capital, Advantage Business Capital and Far West Capital say time or years in business don't hold you back.
- Your brokers. Triumph's non-recourse covers bankruptcy of brokers it has approved, and one owner reported going unpaid on loads from brokers their factor wouldn't take. Check the broker with your factor before you book.
- Credit checks. Apex Capital, Porter Freight Funding, altLINE, TBS, Single Point Capital and Zenvori advertise free broker credit checks, and Bobtail runs them free on request. OTR Solutions offers broker credit checks and Thunder Funding offers broker credit information, so ask either one whether there's a charge.
Small trucks and one-truck carriers
1st Trucking Factoring's program is designed for carriers with one to three trucks, and it advances up to 95% at that size. Scale Funding courts carriers with one to four trucks, with factoring lines from $50,000. Sound Finance says 40% of its clients run one to three trucks.
Express Freight Finance takes no cargo vans or small box trucks. If you run one, ask any factor about your equipment before you apply.
What changes with brokers once you factor
Some brokers' fast pay closes when a factor is on your file:
- Spot keeps its quick pay for carriers that don't have a factoring company on file.
- Uber Freight sends quick pay straight to your bank account by ACH, so you don't need a factor for it.
- RXO keeps factored carriers on standard 30-day pay.
- Allen Lund pays in 14 days direct and 30 days if you factor.
- OpenRoad Global pays in 30 days, or 35 if you factor.
Standard terms run 28 days at TQL and C.H. Robinson and 21 business days at J.B. Hunt. Amazon Relay pays weekly. Quick pay vs factoring compares the two on cost.
Before you sign your first contract
Get each of these in writing before your first load:
- The rate you'll pay, and whether the published one is a floor.
- The advance and the reserve, and when the reserve is released.
- Every fee per payment. Porter Freight Funding's own example includes a $2 transaction fee, and Wallace Factoring charges for wires. Bobtail charges for expedited payments, and it says same-day and next-day pay are free.
- The term and how to leave. Porter wants 60 days' written notice before renewal, and Thunder Funding's agreement runs 90 days. Owners reported an 18-month contract offer from RTS and a yearly TAFS contract that let them choose which loads to factor and barred factoring anywhere else. A forum warning that named no company claimed $5,000 early termination charges.
- When the factor files its UCC. ACS Factors files none until you sign up.
- Recourse. Find out who carries an invoice the broker never pays, and see recourse vs non-recourse factoring.
Price the first offer before you sign. Put the rate, advance and fees from a new-authority offer into the factoring calculator. It shows the fee each month and each year, the cash you'd have by day three and the fee as a yearly interest rate, next to a broker's quick pay and waiting for normal terms. Factoring calculator
