Curri is a load platform that hires gig drivers using their own vehicles and also contracts carriers authorized for interstate or intrastate commerce. Loads run on cargo vans, sprinter vans, box trucks and hotshot trailers, with maximum loads from 1,500 pounds in a cargo van to 16,000 pounds on a hotshot trailer. Carriers need $750,000 in auto liability, or $300,000 if they run no vehicles over 10,000 pounds. The $100,000 cargo requirement applies unless Curri confirms Loss Waiver enrollment in writing.

Best for
Gig drivers and small carriers running vans, box trucks or hotshot trailers

Our take

Curri suits drivers and small carriers on the light end, whether they do gig work in their own vehicle or run an authorized carrier. The Loss Waiver Program can stand in for cargo coverage, but only at Curri's discretion and with its written confirmation.

Read the payment terms before your first load. Curri pays the accepted platform rate only once the sender pays, wants requested documents within 48 hours of delivery and can cut the rate when they're late.

If you factor, file a written Notice of Release with remittance instructions before you haul. A factor that goes to Curri directly for payment can get your agreement ended and your platform account deactivated.

Cons

  • Anyone not required to carry workers' comp needs occupational accident coverage of at least $1 million per occurrence
  • Vehicles over 10,000 pounds must follow all FMCSA safety regulations, even ones that wouldn't otherwise apply
  • Cargo deductible can be at most $2,500

Auto liability$750,000 per occurrenceIt is the larger of this amount and the limit your local law requires. The amount is $300,000 per occurrence only if you run no vehicles over 10,000 pounds. The policy covers all owned, non-owned and hired vehicles and must come from a reputable, financially responsible insurer. If your coverage is scheduled, provide current driver and vehicle schedules and use only scheduled drivers and vehicles. The broker must be an additional insured. Required policies are primary, with a waiver of subrogation and contribution against the broker. Certificates must show the policy is maintained and when it expires, with at least 30 days of notice before cancellation or change. The broker can ask for policy copies. Its own pageOctober 17, 2026
Cargo$100,000 per occurrence if you opt out of Loss WaiverThis applies if you opt out of the Loss Waiver Program. It is All Risk Broad Form Motor Truck Cargo Legal Liability coverage. The deductible or retention can be at most $2,500. The policy can have no exclusions or restrictions that foreseeably preclude cargo claims, including for theft or the commodities carried. The broker must be loss payee, with the endorsement shown on certificates if the broker asks. Loss Waiver Program enrollment is at the broker's discretion and needs written confirmation. Required policies are primary, with a waiver of subrogation and contribution against the broker. Certificates must show the policy is maintained and when it expires, with at least 30 days of notice before cancellation or change. The broker can ask for policy copies. Its own pageOctober 17, 2026
Workers' compStatutoryWorkers compensation must be in the amounts and form your state law requires. Anyone not legally required to carry it needs occupational accident or alternative work injury insurance, with total benefit limits of at least $1 million per occurrence whenever they perform covered services. The workers compensation policy needs an alternate-employer endorsement in the broker's favor. Required policies are primary, with a waiver of subrogation and contribution against the broker. Certificates must show the policy is maintained and when it expires, with at least 30 days of notice before cancellation or change. The broker can ask for policy copies. Its own pageOctober 17, 2026
Safety ratingNo unsatisfactory or unfit rating from a regulatorThe rule covers any regulator with jurisdiction. If you run vehicles over 10,000 pounds, your practices must follow all FMCSA safety regulations whether or not they apply to you. You must tell the broker right away and suspend services if a representation you made becomes untrue. The same applies if you receive an unsatisfactory, conditional or unfit rating or a written DOT warning of one. It also applies if required insurance lapses, if you are warned it is ineffective or if the law prohibits the services. Services stay suspended until the issue is removed or the representation is true again. Its own pageOctober 17, 2026

Pay and quick pay

TermCurriSource
Standard payAccepted platform rates, paid if the sender paysUnless you agree otherwise in writing, you are paid the accepted platform rate through normal platform processing. The broker has no payment responsibility unless the sender pays. Payment depends on the freight bill, the BOL, a clear delivery receipt or other supporting documents that satisfy the broker. Requested documents are due within 48 hours of delivery. Late documents can lead to a rate reduction, delay or liability for uncollected revenue. Offsets are allowed. Payment can be postponed over a potential or pending claim. Delivery evidence the broker requests must arrive within a reasonable time and no later than six months or payment is forfeited. A suit for an unpaid amount must be filed within 18 months of service or the claim is forfeited. If no rate is specified the broker sets a reasonable one and you have 10 days to object in writing. Its own pageOctober 17, 2026
FactoringYes, with a written Notice of ReleaseThe notice must carry remittance instructions and applies to factoring, assignment or a security interest. The broker's and sender's offset and recoupment claims stay ahead of the factor and you must tell the factor so. Without a valid notice you are in breach and the broker can terminate. Payment under any notice discharges the broker, including when notices are multiple or conflict. If a factor or creditor claims payment directly the broker can terminate and deactivate your platform account. Its own pageOctober 17, 2026
